Diamond Fork Jr. High is hosting its 9th annual 5k run on May 23rd. They are doing this to help fight the obesity epidemic in young kids. Studies show that every 1 in 5 kids are obese. Some ways that kids get obese is they have unhealthy eating patterns, lack of physical activities, or both. It is rare for kids to get obese by medical conditions.
Diamond Fork Jr. High School wants kids to be active during the summer so they encourage the students to run the 5k to get them excited to be active in the summer. Any one can come and run the 5k. This is not just an easy way for the students to get excited, but it is a great way for parents, teachers, little brothers or sisters, or older brothers and sisters to come and get ready to be active in the summer.
So come and join us and run the 5k run with us! (For more information go to www.nebo.edu/dfjhs.)
