Today we welcomed our future 6th grade students to Diamond Fork. Students were able to listen to the band, choir, and orchestra as well as get some registration information. They had a video tour of the school and got to meet some of their future fellow students. Thanks to our counselors for their efforts in making today happen!
On Wednesday students who had a GPA of 3.5 or higher were rewarded for their efforts with a delicious cookie. We had over 850 students earn this award for Term 3, that is over 70% of our overall student population with a 3.5 GPA or higher, that is amazing! Nice work students and teachers!
Check out the amazing door posters that are being displayed as part of college week! We have some pretty talented artists, and it has been fun to learn about some different schools! Thanks for all of the hard work and effort. Check back later this week to see those posters that are not quite finished.
Each month Nebo School District awards a select few employees with the Nebo Positive Energy And Kindness or PEAK Award. Susan Anderson, one of our amazing 9th grade English teachers was recognized at the school board meeting as a recipient of this award. Susan is such an outstanding educator who cares deeply for her students. She is fun, outgoing, and her classroom is a great place to learn. She sings "Happy Birthday" to each of her students as well as writes them a personalized birthday poem.
This Thursday, March 15th is the last day of 3rd term. Please sit down with your student and go over their SIS gradebook and see what you can do to help them make a plan to finish up the next few days strong! It's not too late to get a better understadning of a concept during Etime, or work on test corrections. We still have enough time to make improvement!
- As a school we have collected quite a lost and found pile in the front office. We will be announcing all week for students to check if they are missing a coat, jacket, backpack, or notebook. On Friday, March 16th we will be taking all of the items left and donating them to a local thrift store. Please ask your child to check that if you feel you are missing something.
We recently celebrated 13 of our amazing students at a breakfast here at school. Teachers talked about why they nominated these great kids, and parents were able to share about them as well. It is one of our favorite things we do each month, we LOVE to celebrate our students! Thanks to all of those who came and helped out, we will do it again next month!
