- It is time for the annual PTA March Madness Fundraiser. We are asking each parent to donate $10.00 per student or any amount you are willing. This is our only fundraiser and we have chosen this way to eliminate time consuming, door-to-door sales. We hope you see the benefit in this simplified version of a fundraiser. This year we have added a little basketball fun into the week by having some basketball challenges for the students to try their hand at. This will be held during lunchtime, both Wednesday and Thursday in the lunchroom.
Enrichment activities included Just Dance, stress management, baking, card games, origami, karaoke, and more! 9th grade students got to leave for lunch five minutes early as the grade with the fewest deficiencies. Not one 9th grade student failed a class last term! Way to go 9th grade leaders!
- Congratulations to the Diamond Fork Junior High February AND March Student of the Month winners! These Students of the Month were chosen because of their excellent academic and citizenship performance! We appreciate each of you STANDING IN THE HALL OF FAME by showing respect, courage, integrity, compassion, and perseverance in your life each day. Well done!
- The Students of the Month for FEBRUARY are:
- 7th Grade: Brynley Baird & Irbin Rodriguez-Lopez
Mr. Hernandez was the first Hispanic astronaut. Mr. Hernandez grew up in a family of migrant farm workers and went on to become NASA space engineer. He was part of the crew of the 2009 space shuttle mission to the International Space Station. He talked about one of the Diamond Fork Values - Perserverance. His application to NASA was rejected 11 times. Once accepted, he trained for four years for the 14 day mission to space.
