Members of the student council at Diamond Fork Junior High recently visited 1st graders in Ms. Moosman's class at Park Elementary School. The first graders were thrilled to play reading games with the student council members, and they were happy to see that even "big kids" enjoy reading. Ms.
The first week of September Diamond Fork Junior High School’s Cross Country team began their season. The team consists of 7th-9th grade students who practice from 3:00 to 4:30 everday after school. Many students choose to participate on the team because they love the sport and they get in excellent shape through all the exercise.
Every month at Diamond Fork Junior High two students from the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades are selected as students of the month. These students are nominated and then voted on by the entire faculty. The students of the month for September are:
7th Grade: Marisol Alvis and Derek Lindstrom
8th Grade: Heidyn Von Bose and Kaleb Moulton
9th Grade: McKae Nielsen and Jorgen Olsen
On Thursday, September 13th students at Diamond Fork Junior High participated in their first ever multi-cultural school dance. The school's "Latinos In Action" class as well as several Polynesian students organized and performed cultural dances to the delight of the student body. As the dancers left the stage to thunderous applause, many students commented on their amazing skills. Student Fernando Salazar said, "The dancers were well prepared and did a good job - the audience loved them!" Even the professional DJ complemented the students of Diamond Fork for their great talents.
